My New Favorite Show!

Wise words of the day: Take control of your life rather than letting things happen just like that!

How many of you remember the British girl group the Spice Girls?  This 5 girl group band consisted of Victoria (Posh Spice) Beckham, Emma (Baby Spice) Bunton, Melanie (Sporty Spice) Chisholm, Geri (Ginger Spice) Halliwell and my all time favorite Melanie (Scary Spice) Brown. In the early 90's the girls were all over the charts and every little girl, including myself, wanted to be like one of the members. They sold about 75 millions records and had four albums. I even remember purchasing their movie Spice World that was released sometime in 1997-1998.

Over the years the girls remained friends, tour occasionally and have done their individual projects. Of course being a Mel B fan I followed her career over time.  Mel B was pretty much the coolest Spice Girl around and seemed more real. In 1998 she released a song, with another one of favorites Missy Elliott, called 'I Want You Back' for the Why Do Fools Fall In Love movie soundtrack. This song was and still is awesome...you can't tell me to judge because my opinion will be just a tad bit bias.  ( Click for "I Want You Back" Video)

Anyway she now has a reality show on the Style channel called "Mel B: It's a Scary World". It comes on every Sunday at 9pm and you can watch how she balances motherhood with her career. Mel has two daughters, currently married to Stephan Belafonte and had a baby with Eddie Murphy, Angel Brown, in 2007. Those that like drama would watch it but I watch it because I love Mel B. She's gorgeous, fun and real. Check her out!

Our President Thee Author!

Wise Words of the Day: Present your best ideas today to an eager and welcoming audience.

President Obama is releasing a children's book called "Of Thee I Sing: A Letter To My Daughters." They say not to judge a book by its cover but I'm pretty sure it will be full of bright colors, pictures and  it includes a beautiful tribute to 13 Americans that helped build  and shape our nation. "Of Thee I Sing: A Letter To My Daughters" has illustrations by Loren Long and is published by Random House Children's Books. I can't wait to read this book on November 16th and buy several copies for my little brothers, sisters and cousins. President Obama is a great man who achieved a lot of the year prior his presidency. He is a true role model to all Americans. You have to respect a man who takes full responsibility for his family.  Just look at these wonderful pictures below, who wouldn't want a father like him?!

You can also purchase your copy early for $9.89 by clicking the link below. All proceeds will be going to charity.

Child Stars

Wise Words of the Day: A man without aim is like a clock without hands, as useless if it turns as if it stands.

Lately child prodigies have been the new IT factor in the music industry. A rising star that I am truly feeling right now is Willow Smith. For those of you who do not know she is Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith's daughter.

Willow appeared on the Ryan Seacrest show to announce that she is signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation label.
According to BlackCelebKids.com, "Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith stated, 'After meeting with several record companies, it was clear that JAY-Z, Ty Ty, Jay Brown and the Roc Nation staff was the unquestionable choice.  Their passion for Willow combined with their boundless vision and artistic integrity made Roc Nation the perfect home for our little girl.'"

Baby girl has a crazy hot song out called "WHIP MY HAIR," produced by Jukebox.  For a  9 year old she took me by surprise and I can confidently say she has a hit record under her belt. Check it out!

New iPod Nano

Wise words of the day: It takes 10 times as many muscles to frown as it does to smile.

Before I begin let me say for the record..."I LOVE APPLE PRODUCTS." But do I really want to spend $150-$180 on a pint size nano? It seems to me that we can lose this product easily. Like seriously...why even buy this when its almost the same size as the iPod shuffle.

The dimensions are as follows:
1.61 inches x 1.48 inches
Its about 0.35 inches thick and weighs 0.74 ounces.

Although it may be almost the same size as the shuffle, I must admit Apple added some pretty cool features. They are as follows:
1. Screen swipe, rotation and zoom ( Like the iPhone)
2. Custom screen preferences (So basically you can move your icons around)
3. Song Control  ( I thought this was pretty neat. To shuffle your songs all you have to do is give your nano a little shake.)
4. Genius control (Who knows what's that for...)
5. FM radio (FINALLY! What took you so long?)

Take a look at the new iPod nano yourself and make your own judgement: http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/design.html
